Hi Wendy, I’m not actually sure if you can just use the air purifying function on its own. At least I haven’t figured out how. I just assumed that it purifies the air as it heats or cools so whenever it is in use. Might be worth contacting the company if this is something you really want to know.

Cannot get to grips with what number with the sway on the remote control should I be using for AIR PURIFYING ONLY. Please can you tell me the number setting.

This is so good to know Mandy. So far I have only tested it in my office where no cooking takes place but should I move it to home this is great added benefit.

I have one of these that I use in my mobile home. It heats up really quickly and is also great if I am making a bacon sandwich (and leave it in the pan a bit too long) as it purifies the air too.
Looking forward to using this in the summer months too.
