I like coir too, it’s a very versatile and practical material. I have been using coir door mats for a long time. I place one outside and the other indoors. After reading this article, I’m thinking of ordering a large coir rug for my hallway.

Yes wool would definitely be the safe option Lin, but I prefer the look of the others. Definitely need some practical experience first though before making a decision.

What a fab and informative post – I’d never heard of coir before! I’m a big fan of wool carpets but love the idea of layering hard floors with rugs. I do love the look of many of these but would need to test the fibres out as I love to go bare-foot at home ; )

Great article! Didn’t realise jute or sisal could be a possible flooring material, It’s amazing. I don’t know if you have pets but cats and sisal/jute don’t go very well. I love the smell of natural rugs, furniture. It brings something unique in. (I have a poof made our of dried banana leaves).

i love how the naturals blend in but at the same time give any room just right amount of texture xx
