What’s your idea of a perfect, cosy hideaway in which to spend the winter months? For me, it’s an alpine lodge theme, complete with a roaring fire, comfy sofas piled with cushions, and our hands warmed round a cup of hot chocolate. And luckily, its a perennial trend that is easy to follow. Building different textures is a must, with natural woods and then the soft furnishings. Plus setting the right lighting tone and mood, with lamps, candles, high and low. Kilner jars are a great way to put pillar candles or tea lights in, that give a cosy glow.
