If you are concerned about the environmental issues you can look for an Ecodesign 2022 certified model. This will be more efficient (fewer logs to be bought and carried, more heat output per £ spent on fuel) and less smokey.
If you are in a smokeless zone you must buy a DEFRA approved or ecodesign approved model which will satisfy the regulations and your neighbours rights to clean air.
I am having a stove installed at the moment and have spoken to various installers and a chimney sweep before we ordered the stove.

Multi fuel stoves are not as good at burning logs/ wood as a pure woodburning stove. Most home owners regret getting multi fuel, they dontwant the primary fuel which is coal. The most important feature of a wood burning stove is the fuel, dry seasoned wood only.
I have been fitting and sorting stoves for 40 years.
